Folks,
As some of you know I was never a very good student...Not because I was lazy but because I did what the voices in my head said too...No really! I have a learning disability and well it came back 10 fold while learning this backwards language called Swedish.
So after another school term of struggle and me still using swinglish (English and Swedish mixed together) in every conversation I have in Swedish I have left my adult school studies at komvux and will be attending Malmöfolkhögskola in the fall.
They have a program for adults with dyslexia and its just what I need to get my brain to work in Swedish...Plus they will help me with my poor English writing skills.
I will be taking Math,English,Swedish,history,a bit of science and some government classes....Its a whole day program from 8:20 to 2pm M-F.

I hope its a step in the right direction...because I need my confidence back:=) So when school is out for summer we will be living in a Swedish speaking household....Ive told the swede that if he wants to have a clean house,a warm dinner and loving wife then he must make a better effort to speak to me like the Swedish chef from the Muppet show!

I'm so happy that you will be able to start Swedish classes that take into consideration your dyslexia. I pray this will allow your teachers to be more patient with you, and that you will be able to learn and retain the language/grammar that is taught to you.
One day all of this school nonsense will end and you will be able to start working again. Or you can move back to the states... somewhere like... Mmm... TEXAS! But I know the Swede won't go for that. But I guess every party has a pooper... Just kidding Paulus! I still love you even though you moved my sister a half a world away.

You know how much I want to come and visit this summer...LOTS.
But next summer will be great...we can show the kids and our husbands around our nations capital and enjoy the places we saw as young women through the kids eyes....Micah is going to love Williamsburg and the mesumens in DC. We can visit some historic homes and walk through the gardens...I remember Thomas Jeffersons house having a great english garden..Im looking forward to it.....Plus we can have the great rootbeer that we loved so much..minus the bees this time:)
Well this school is really nice and I think Im finally going to get the help I need. Its a bit of a distance from where we live..about a hour on the bus...We are looking to maybe put Jake in doggie day care a few days a week so he doesnt have to be home alone so much..Unlike the free classes I was getting as komvux at this place I have a pay a small tution for the class plus books...Its around 200 dollars a year.
.The school is on a old dairy farm and they have converted the old barns into class rooms,a libaray and there is a lunch room and a restarunt..Its quite pretty....Well off to take out Jake and clean the house...we are having some friends over with small kids so I have to mop the floor again and the weather is warm again and I think we plan to eat outside....I love the sun!
